LWFF 2019 Venue - Mirth, Marvel & Maud
Little Wing Film Festival 2019
September 20 - 22
*Please note the date amendment for Little Wing Film Festival
this year, which is no longer September 13-15*
We’re very excited to share with you the ins and outs of this year’s venue
for Little Wing Film Festival 2019
Mirth, Marvel and Maud!

This Grade II* listed building has a long history of screening films dating all the way back to 1896. In its lifetime the venue has evolved back and forth between cinemas, arts spaces and music venues. It was famously frequented by Alfred Hitchcock during its cinema years, and played music host to acts such as the Beatles, John Coltrane, Little Richard and Buddy Holly.

After an illustrious heyday, the venue fell to disuse in 2003 for 13 years until it was taken over by the team at Mirth who have lovingly brought it back to life to become one of East London's favourite bars and arts venues. Find yourself greeted at the palatial entrance with chandeliers and the original ticket booth, now a mini bar, with a restaurant, vintage lounges, and shab chic decor that makes Mirth, Marvel and Maud one of London's most colourful characters.
We're very excited to embrace our new home in the heart of Walthamstow this year, Waltham Forest having just been named the first London Borough of Culture in 2019, and we look forward to screening films from our young filmmakers in a place of such industry heritage.
Keen an eye out for our programme in August and we look forward to seeing you there!
