Little Wing grew out of a frustration with a film industry that felt increasingly out of reach and out of touch for most young creatives.

Six years later, we're an established part of the UK's grassroots film infrastructure -  platforming new talent, engaging new audiences, and creating ecosystems of support for a new generation of creatives.

In September we're back for a sixth year, bringing you the best and brightest in emerging film talent. There are lots of surprises still to come, but we're already thrilled with the quality of the submissions this year and excited to tell you more about our venues, partners and plans.

For now though, submissions are still open! Make sure your film doesn't miss out:

We're working toward a more accessible, open, exciting future for film, and we'd love you to join us.

Whether you're a new filmmaker, passionate about equality, just a lover of film or all of the above, there's a place for you in our dynamic and ever-growing community of people making film better.

"While there is no shortage of festivals purporting to support emerging filmmakers, Little Wing is one of the few that keeps its promise. Every aspect of the festival - from the audience feedback forms to the workshops to the prizes which include advice sessions with industry partners - has been conceived to provide the help a novice filmmaker needs to persist.

In stark contrast to the conveyor-belt mentality of many other festivals, the attention, time and care taken by Mariah and her team to nurture relationships with each filmmaker before, during and after the festival - such that one feels they are palpably invested in the flourishing of both the film and the filmmaker - is transformative in ways that cannot be quantified. I cannot recommend this festival more highly!"
